Kathmandu – Nepal is playing against Pakistan ‘A’ today in its first match in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The match will start at 10:30 am Nepali time at the Colombo Cricket Club ground in Sri Lanka.
Nepal is the only team to send its main team to the tournament. But Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane, Dipendra Singh Airi and Arif Shaikh will not play, while Nepal has rested Karan KC and Gyanendra Malla.
Today’s next match will be between India and UAE. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have made a winning start in the tournament which started yesterday from Thursday. Sri Lanka ‘A’ defeated Bangladesh ‘A’ by 48 runs and Afghanistan ‘A’ defeated Oman ‘A’ by 72 runs.
Nepal will play the second match against the India ‘A’ team on July 1 and the third match against the UAE ‘A’ team on July 3. Nepal is in Group ‘B’.
Similarly, in Group ‘A’ there are ‘A’ teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Oman. The top two teams from the two groups will advance to the semi-finals. The final match of the tournament will be held on July 7.
