Kathmandu: Nepal will going to play the third match of the triangular T20 series at home, Nepal is playing against Papua New Guinea (PNG) today.
The game will start at 12:30 pm at the Tribhuvan International Ground in Kirtipur.
It will be a special game for the Nepali cricket team when they take the field against PNG.
Because from this game, Nepal will complete the milestone of 50 games in T20 International.
Nepal made its debut in the ICC T20 World Cup in Bangladesh in 2014 and played its first T20 international.
As it is the World Cup, all the three games played by Nepal in the first round were T20 recognized.
Nepal had played that historic T20 International against Hong Kong and won it.
Nepal had won the match by 80 runs in Chittagong. Shakti Gauchan was the man of the match.
If Nepal defeats PNG, it will secure a place in the final one game ahead.
For PNG, the game against Nepal must be won to maintain the final chances.
Nepal has reached Ireland, UAE, Lord’s, Oman and other places in the T20 International Tour which started from Bangladesh.
Coincidentally, Nepal is playing its historic 50th game at home. Nepal has won 27 out of 49 matches played so far.
After losing 21 games, one game ended in a draw. Nepal’s victory percentage is 56.25.
Dipendra Singh Airy is the highest run scorer for Nepal in T20 Internationals. He has batted 31 innings in 36 games and scored 803 runs with the help of 3 half centuries.
Similarly, captain Sandeep Lamichhane has taken maximum 67 wickets in 35 games. Gyanendra Malla has played the most 40 T20 internationals for Nepal.
So far, 16 nations have played 50 or more Twenty20 internationals. Pakistan is the most played T20 international team. Pakistan has played 189 games.
Nepal’s eyes towards the final
Nepal is the only undefeated team in the ongoing triangular T20 series after winning two games in a row. Nepal has already defeated PNG and also defeated Malaysia.
In the ODI series, Nepal has lost both the games and in the PNG T20 series, it has lost two games in a row.
Nepal’s eyes will be on the final when they take the field against PNG. If Nepal defeats PNG, it will secure a place in the final one game ahead.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated PNG by 15 runs in the first match. After a comfortable 6-wicket win over Malaysia in the second match, Nepal is planning to win the third match in a row.
After defeating Malaysia on Wednesday, Nepal’s captain Sandeep Lamichhane said that the team’s goal is to reach the final by winning all the matches and winning the series.
