Kathmandu: Pakistan have beaten Sri Lanka by four wickets at Galle International Stadium in their first Test cricket match.
Abdullah Shafique helped to score an unbeaten 160 to lead Pakistan to a record run chase and a four-wicket victory on Wednesday in the first Test match.
Pakistan met the target of 342 runs given by the home team Sri Lanka in Galle today after lunch on the fifth day by losing 6 wickets.
Abdullah Safiq scored 160 not out for Pakistan.
Similarly, captain Babar Azam scored 55 runs. Pakistan also set a record for the second highest run target in their Test history.
Pakistan completed the target of 377 runs given by Sri Lanka in 2015.
Prawath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka took four wickets in the second innings.
After leading by four runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 3337 runs in the second innings and Pakistan got a target of 342 runs.
Pakistan are visiting Sri Lanka for a two-Test series.
