KATHMANDU: Nepal’s men’s team has won the second friendly one-day cricket match against Papua New Guinea by 151 runs.
Following the target of 234 runs given by Nepal, PNG was all out in 19 overs and managed to score only 82 runs. Tony Ura scored 19 and Charles Amini 16 for PNG.
On the bowling side, Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane had the best performance of his career. Sandeep, who bowled 1 ball in 5 overs, took 6 wickets for just 11 runs. Similarly, Sompal Kami, Bikram Sob and Susan Bhari took 1/1 wickets each.
Nepal, who had earlier won the toss and elected to bat at the Emirates Cricket Ground, were all out for 233 runs in 49 overs.
Rahit Padel played a half century innings for Nepal. Rahit, who played 123 balls, scored 86 runs. Similarly, captain Gyanendra Malla scored 45 runs while Karan KC contributed 42 runs off 26 balls.
On the bowling side, PNG’s Chad Sapper took three wickets. Similarly, Norman Bhanua and Kabua Mare took two wickets each.
Earlier, Nepal had won the friendly match by two wickets.
