Sandeep will not play ‘The Hundred Cricket Tournament’ due to visa problem

KATHMANDU: Nepali national cricket team leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has decided not to play The Hundred Cricket Tournament due to his visa.

Through the social network Facebook, Sandeep has informed that he is sure to lose The Hundred Tournament organized by England and Wales Cricket.

Sandeep wrote on Facebook that he was very disappointed to lose this competition.

Sandeep was contracted by Oval Invisibles for around 10 million Nepali rupees in the competition which will start from this Thursday.

Sandeep, who left for England on July 8, had demanded a 10-day quarantine time at a hotel recognized by the British government on Saturday. Sandeep also said that he had applied for a visa as per the instructions of the England Cricket Board (ECB).

Sandeep has also questioned the ECB as to why his visa was not valid. Sandeep has also apologized to the fans who were excited about his presence in the competition.

After Sandeep’s absence, it is understood that he will be replaced by T20I number one bowler Tabriz Samsi of South Africa.
