Kathmandu: Nepal has been eliminated After losing to Thailand from the semi-finals of the Asian Qualifying Tournament of the Women’s T-20 World Cup.
Thailand have defeated Nepal by 46 runs in the match held in Bangi, Malaysia on Friday morning. Malaysia, who lost the toss and batted first, lost 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 150 runs.
Nanapath Koncharonkai scored an unbeaten 59 runs for him. Chasing a target of 106 runs in reply, Nepal managed to score only 59 runs in 19 overs 3 balls before being bowled out. Kavita Kunwar scored an unbeaten 17 runs for Nepal.
For bowling, Onicha Kamchompu and Thipacha Puthong of Thailand took 3/3 wickets. With this defeat, Nepal’s chances of playing the global qualifiers of Women’s T-20 World Cup cricket have ended.
There is a provision that the two teams that reach the finals of the Asian qualifying tournament will be allowed to play in the global qualifiers to be held next year.
