India won the first match by 68 runs. After losing the toss and batting first in St. Kitts, West Indies’ Obed McCoy took 6 wickets and was bowled out for 138 runs in 19 overs and 4 balls. McCoy took 6 wickets with 1 maiden in 4 overs for 17 runs.
Jason Holder took 2 wickets. Chasing a winning target of 139 runs for victory, West Indies found themselves losing 5 wickets in 19 overs and 2 balls.
India’s Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Avesh Khan and Hardik Pandya took one wicket each.
Last night’s match was delayed by three hours when the players’ luggage arrived late. The third match between the two countries will be played today.
