KATHMANDU: English clubs Manchester City and Liverpool have reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The city reached the last four with a 1-0 overall victory after a goalless draw with Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the quarterfinals last night.
City won the first leg 1-0 at home. The city will now play Real Madrid in the semifinals.
In the other match, Liverpool also drew 3-3 with Portuguese club Benfica. Liverpool drew in the second leg of the quarterfinals and reached the last four with an overall victory of 6-4.
Liverpool won the first leg 3–1. Roberto Firminho of Liverpool scored two goals in the second leg. Ibrahim Konate also scored a goal. Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, Roman Yaremchuk and Darwin Nunez all scored. Liverpool will now play Spanish club Villa Real in the semi-finals.
