Farewell to Nepali women’s team heading to India to play international friendly football
Kathmandu – The Nepali national women’s team, which will be leaving for Sikkim to play a tri-nation international friendly football match with Iran and India, has bid farewell
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bid farewell to the team during a program today.
In the tri-nation football tournament, Nepal will play Iran on Friday, the 7th, and India on Kartik 10. Both matches will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong.
After that, ANFA has stated that Nepal will play a friendly football match against India on Kartik 13. This match will not receive international recognition as it is not under the FIFA window.
Preeti Rai, Savitra Bhandari ‘Samba’, Pooja Rai, and Angela Tumbapo Subba, who are playing professional football abroad, have come to Nepal for the competition.
Nepal is ranked 89th in the FIFA rankings, while India is ranked 63rd and Iran is ranked 70th.
