Kathmandu: South Asian football has been affected after FIFA, the world football’s highest body, suspended the Indian Football Association.
With the suspension of India, a new schedule has to be made for the Women’s SAFF Championship scheduled to be held in Nepal from August 21.
The South Asian Football Federation SAFF meeting held on Wednesday decided to wait until next week to announce the new schedule.
The meeting of the executive committee of SAFF has decided to announce the new schedule of the SAFF women’s championship to be held in Nepal and the SAFF under-seventeen championship scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka on August 24.
If India’s suspension is not lifted, the number of teams participating in the tournament will decrease. It has been said that the format of the competition should also be changed.
