Kathmandu: Gopichandra Parki is leaving for Germany on Today to participate in the Berlin Marathon, one of the world famous marathons.
Gopichandra will leave Qatar Airways for Berlin at 8:40 pm on Tuesday for the marathon on September 26. Gopi will be accompanied by coach Santosh Shrestha. He was bade farewell by National Sports Council (NSC) Member-Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal. The air ticket of the team has been arranged by National Sports Association Nepal.
Gopichandra, the gold medalist of the 13th South Asian Games (SAGS), has a personal best of 2 hours 18 minutes and 59 seconds.
Meanwhile, Nepalgunj Marathon organizer Creative Hands also bid farewell to Gopichandra and coach Shrestha by organizing a separate program on Tuesday. On the occasion, Creative Hands presented a track suit, bag and t-shirt to Gopichandra as a token of love and also a t-shirt to Shrestha.
