Himal Tomata wins the title of National Cycling Championship

Kaski: Himal Tomata of the Nepal Army has won the title of the National Cycling Championship.

The compitition was organized by the Pokhara Metropolitan Sports Development Committee in Pokhara.

He completed the required distance of 45 kilometers in 2 hours 34 minutes and 10 seconds and won the title.

Three minutes later, Laxman Malla of APF finished second in 2 hours 37 minutes and 50 seconds.

Similarly, Hikmat BK of Kaski finished third in 2 hours 46 minutes and 39 seconds.

Usha Khanal has won the women’s title. She completed the required distance in 3 hours 8 minutes and 40 seconds.

Similarly, Laxmi Magar finished second in 3 hours 33 minutes and 7 seconds and Indra Kumari Tamang finished third in 4 hours 5 minutes and 3 seconds.

The first, second and third place winners of the competition received prizes, medals and certificates worth Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Medals and certificates will be given to all the participants. A total of 81 players including 5 women and 76 men participated in the competition.

The competition was jointly organized by Cycling Association Kaski and Cycle City Pokhara with the objective of promoting cycling.

The Sports Development Committee Chairman  Deepak Godar have informed that the competition started from the bridge of Kalikhola at Pokhara 16 and ended at the bridge of Kalikhola.

Inaugurating the competition, Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Dhanraj Acharya said that new programs would be introduced in the budget when it comes to promoting sports.
