Kathmandu: Nepal lost to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 99 runs in the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.
Nepal were all out in 10 overs and were bundled out for 103 after the UAE had set a target of 203 runs.
Gyanendra Malla scored 30 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Arif Sheikh and Sampal Kami were all out for 15-15 runs. From the bowling side, UAE’s Junaid Siddiqui took four wickets.
Similarly, Kashif Dawood and Ahmed Raja took two wickets each.
Earlier at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, UAE won the toss and elected to field. UAE scored 202 runs in 50 overs for the loss of nine wickets.
Rohan Mustafa of UAE top scored with 60 runs. Similarly, Muhammad Wasim scored 33, Chirag Suri scored 26 and Vritya Aravind scored 24 runs.
From the bowling side, Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan Casey took three wickets, Karan Kesey and Sompal Karmi took two wickets each and Arif Sheikh and Deepender Singh Airi took one wicket each.
In the first match, Nepal beat Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 2 wickets. In the second match, Nepal lost to UAE by 48 runs.
Nepal is at the sixth position in the World Cricket League-2 with 10 points from 11 matches. UAE is second and PNG at the bottom. But Nepal has played the least number of matches in the league.
