Kathmandu: India have won the first T20 cricket match against Ireland by seven wickets. The game was shortened to 12 overs due to rain.
Ireland lost 4 wickets in 12 overs and scored 108 runs. Chasing the target of 109 runs, India lost 3 wickets in 9 overs and scored 111 runs.
Deepak Hoda top-scored for India with 47 runs, followed by Ishan Kishan (26), captain Hardik Pandey (24) and Dinesh Karthik (5).
For Ireland, Curry Young took two wickets and Josh Little took one. Harry Tector, who had earlier batted for Ireland, played a half-century innings of 64 runs but could not win the team.
Ireland’s Lorken Tucker added 18, Greth Delney added eight and Paul Sterling and George Dockrell added four.
India’s Hardik Pandey, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhas Khan and Yujbhendra Chahal took one wicket each.
