KATHMANDU: Nepal’s men’s cricket team defeated the United States by five wickets in the tri-nation ODI series under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.
Nepal completed the target of 231 runs set by the United States by losing five wickets in 49 overs. Kushal Bhurtel scored 84 runs in Nepal’s victory. Similarly, Rohit Poudel scored an unbeaten half-century while Binod Bhandari scored 37 runs.
Nosthush Kenjije and Nisarg Patel of USA took two wickets each.
Batting first after winning the toss, USA scored 230 runs losing the wicket in the stipulated overs.
Mananke Patel scored a century for the United States. Playing 114 balls, Patel scored 100 runs with the help of a six and Nai Chaika.
Nepal’s Vikram Saeb, Sandeep Lamichhane and Susan Bhari took two wickets each. Similarly, Kushal Malla took one wicket.
Nepal is in the sixth position in the league with 6 points in five games. Oman tops the list with 16 points from 10 games, followed by the United States with 12 points from 13 games.
Nepal will play Oman in the second match on Tuesday. In the third match, the United States will play next Friday and Oman on Sunday.
