Kathmandu: Nepal is playing against Iran in the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup qualifiers today at the Republican Central Stadium in Tajikistan.
The match will be played at 5:15 pm. Nepal is on the verge of making a happy start today. However, a strong team is not easy to beat Iran. Nepal is about to play Iran for the second time in the Under-23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Earlier, Nepal had played Iran at its home ground in 2015. At that time, Nepal was defeated 5-0. Nepali team head coach Bal Gopal Maharjan said that he is ready to get good results in the selection.
He said that even if the opposition team is strong, they will do their best to win. Nepal is in Group B in the selection competition. Along with Iran, hosts Tajikistan and Lebanon are in Nepal’s group.
Nepal will play Tajikistan in the second match next Thursday and Lebanon on Sunday. The top team of the group will play in the Asian Cup. Similarly, the best four teams from the second team will also be selected in the Asian Cup.
