Nepal lost to USA by 39 runs

Kathmandu: Nepal lost to the United States in the final match of the tri-nation one-day series under the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.

Nepal lost to USA by 39 runs in the match which ended earlier this morning at Mosa Cricket Ground in Texas.

Following the target of 246 runs given by the United States, Nepal was all out in 47 overs and managed to score only 206 runs.

Nepal’s Arif Sheikh played a half-century innings of 63 runs but could not win the team. Similarly, Nepal’s Sompal Kami added 47, Dev Khanal 34, Asif Sheikh 18, Rohit Poudel 16 and Kushal Bhurtel 10 runs. Dipendra Singh Airy, Adil Ansari and Karan KC could not add double figures while captain Sandeep Lamichhane was out for zero.

Ali Khan and Saurabh Netravalkar of USA took 3-3 wickets while Nosthush Kenji and Nisarg Patel took one wicket each. Earlier, batting first, USA lost 7 wickets in 50 overs and scored 245 runs.

Gajanand Singh and Sushant Modani scored half-centuries for the United States. Singh contributed 58 and Modani 54 runs. Aaron Jones added 43, Saitej Mukkamala added 36, Nisarg Patel added 18 and Cameron Stevenson added 16 runs.

Karan KC of Nepal took 3 wickets while Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets and Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airy took 1 wicket each. In the previous match, Nepal and USA played a draw and shared the points. Nepal lost the first match by 13 runs to Oman.
