Kathmandu – Nepal has defeated UAE at home in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Asia Qualifiers. Nepal defeated UAE by 7 runs. With this victory, will reach the Under-19 World Cup. Nepal has reached the World Cup after 8 years.
Earlier in 2016, Nepal played the age group World Cup. Chasing the target of 192 runs given by Nepal, UAE were bowled out for 184 runs in 48 overs.
Ethan Carl D’Souza scored 50, Aryan Saxena 34 and Aryan Sharma 32 for UAE. On the bowling side, Nepal’s Dipesh Kandel took 5 wickets including a hat-trick.
Earlier, Nepal, who lost the toss and batted at Eden Gardens in Ajman, were bowled out for 191 runs in 5 balls in 48 overs. Captain Dev Khanal scored the highest 51 runs for Nepal.
Similarly, Vishal Vikram KC scored 38 runs and Uttam Rangu Thapa Magar scored 36 runs. On the bowling side, Dhruva Parashar of UAE took 3 wickets and Harit Hari Shetty and Ion Afzal Khan took 2 wickets each.
Nepal defeated Singapore by 96 wickets in the first match, Kuwait by 243 wickets in the second match, Hong Kong by 9 wickets in the third match and Malaysia by 10 wickets in the fourth match.
The U-19 World Cup will be held in Sri Lanka in 2024.
