Kathmandu: Nepal’s 7 athletcians are going to participate in the 25th Asian Athletics Championship to be held in Pattaya, Thailand. In which there are 5 men and 2 women.
Deepak Adhikari will compete in the 10,000 meter race, Mukesh Pal in the 1,500 and 5,000 meter race, Som Bahadur Kumal in the 400 and 800 meter race, and Shivraj Parki and Ayush Kunwar in the 100 and 200 meter race.
In women competition, Rajpura Pachhai will participate in 5000m race and Phulmati Rana will participate in 800m and 1500m race.
Except for Mukesh, Shiv and Ayush, all the players have been selected for the 19th Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, China.
Athletics chief trainer Chandra Bahadur Gurung and official Jitendra Chaudhary are among the coaches.
Wishing the team success, National Sports Council Vice President Shiv Koirala and Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising bid farewell during a program on Saturday. The team is leaving for Thailand on Sunday.
