Kathmandu: Nepal is playing against Jordan tonight in the third round of AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. The game will start at 1 pm at the Jabir Al Ahmed Stadium in Kuwait.

Eleven players including regular captain Kiran Chemjong are out of the Nepali national team.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the working style of head coach Abdullah Almutairi, he left the closed training on April 27.

Before leaving for Kuwait, Nepal had made preparations for 10 days in Doha, Qatar. The Nepali team played three friendly matches in Doha.

They lost to Oman, while Timor-Leste drew 2/2 with the Under-23 team and 1/1 with Sri Lanka. Nepal’s group includes Kuwait, Indonesia and Jordan.

Nepal, in Group A, will play Kuwait on Saturday, June 11 and Indonesia on Tuesday. The top team of each group and the second best team will be selected in the Asian Cup-2023.
