Kathmandu – The Kathmandu Gorkhas has won for the second time in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) today at TU International Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur.
Kathmandu defeated Lumbini Lions by 18 runs. Chasing the target of 104 runs given by Kathmandu, Lumbini was bowled out for 85 runs in 19 overs and 2 balls.
Lumbini’s Sandeep Jera scored the most 26 runs. Kathmandu captain Karan KC took 4 wickets, Dipesh Kandel took 3 wickets.
Earlier, Kathmandu, who won the toss and batted at the Kirtipur University Cricket Ground, were bowled out for 103 runs in 19 overs and 2 balls. Bhim Sarki from Kathmandu scored 31 runs.
Lumbini’s Saad Bin Zafar took 3 wickets. With this win, Kathmandu gained 4 points in 4 games and climbed to the fifth place in the table.
There is still a possibility that Kathmandu will reach the playoffs. Lumbini has been eliminated from the league stage before one game.
Lumbini has scored only 2 points after playing 6 matches. Sudurpaschim Royals defeated Janakpur Belts by 72 runs in the first match of NPL today.
