Biratnagar beats Chitwan by 51 runs

Kathmandu: Biratnagar Kings defeated Chitwan Rhinos by 51 runs in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) with Basir Ahmed’s all-round performance.

This is Biratnagar’s second win in NPL. After this victory, Biratnagar, who has collected 4 points from 6 games, has maintained a slight chance of the playoffs.

Biratnagar won the toss and scored 181 runs after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Basir Ahmed of Biratnagar scored 68 not out, Martin Guptill scored 45, Rajesh Pulami scored 33 not out.

Region Dhakal of Chitwan took 2 wickets. In NPL, Chitwan is at the fourth position in the table with 6 points in 5 games. Biratnagar is at the bottom with 2 points from 5 matches.

This is Chitwan’s third loss in 6 games and Chitwan’s campaign to reach the playoffs has suffered a major setback. With 6 points from 6 games, Chitwan remains in fourth place.

Chitwan will now face Janakpur Bolts, who have qualified for the playoffs on Saturday, in the final match of the league.

Bashir, who performed all-round in Biratnagar’s victory, made a half-century with the bat and took 1 wicket with economical bowling.
