Kathmandu: Nepal has been defeated by India by 23 runs in the quarter-final match of cricket under the Asian Games.

Even though Nepal performed well, they could not avoid defeat. With this defeat, Nepal has been eliminated from the tournament. Pursuing a target of 203 runs for victory, Nepal lost 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and scored 179 runs.

Nepali cricket team spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has said that 20 runs were spent against India in the quarter-final match of the 19th Asian Games (Asiad). Sandeep gave this reaction after Nepal lost to India by 23 runs.

This is a very positive aspect for Nepali cricket. Even though we lost the game, we got a lot of positives. The T20 World Cup Qualifier is coming up in the coming days.

India is not a weak team. Many of their players have represented India. All have played IPL. There will be good confidence for everyone before the qualifiers”, said Sandeep.

Chasing a huge winning target of 203 runs for victory, Nepal lost 9 wickets in 20 overs and scored 179 runs. Sandeep says that 20 runs is too much for Nepal.

20 runs was too much for Ali. The field was also small. Many things cannot be controlled. Good balls also get runs. It was a good trip”, he said.

We are trying to do good on our part. We did well. It is a matter of experience. We have played. But they play better cricket than us. There is only one difference. It seems that the situation is understood quickly”, he said.
