Kathmandu – Nepal has managed to take all the wickets within 95 runs of Papua New Guinea today at TU cricket ground in the Tri-Nations ODI series of ICC Cricket League-2.
After winning the toss and Nepal ware electing to bowl first, Nepal bowled out of PNG for 95 runs in 32 overs. Sandeep Lamichhane has managed to take the most 5 wickets for Nepal.
Other players could not score double figures. Sandeep Lamichhane took 5 wickets for Nepal. Similarly, Lalit Narayan Rajvanshi and Kushal Malla took 2 wickets each while Sompal Kami took 1 wicket.
Now, Nepal will have to win two matches to get a direct place in the World Cup qualifiers by staying within the top 3 of the World Cup League Two.
Nepal has secured international ODI recognition. Nepal has climbed to the fourth position of the ICC World Cup Cricket League-2.
Nepal has got 36 points from 34 games. If Nepal can beat Papua New Guinea today and UAE next Thursday, it will be ranked third with 40 points and will qualify for the ICC ODI World Cup in Zimbabwe next year.
PNG is at the bottom of the points table with 11 points. UAE is in sixth place with 31 points.
